“Have a seat,” Lucinda instructed.
Nathan obediently took a seat, feeling uncomfortable.
He wasn’t certain if Lucinda was still angry or not. He did know though, that he detested being beaten, especially when it involved his palms.

Realizing his mistake, he released her grip weakly and rested his head against her chest. His voice was barely audible as he murmured, “I mean, having you by my side makes me feel so much better…”
She remained silent.
Bowing her head, she narrowed her icy gaze and fixed a piercing stare on Nathan. She understood what had just happened.
